The Haringey Council Planning Sub Committee met on Thursday 6th November 2025 to discuss several planning applications, including a pre-application proposal and an update on major proposals. The meeting also included a review of planning decisions made under delegated powers.
Mallard Place pre-application proposal
The committee was scheduled to discuss a pre-application proposal for the redevelopment of Mallard Place, Coburg Road, Wood Green. The proposal involves the construction of two buildings, one 22 storeys high with an 8-storey wing, and another 14 storeys high with a 6-storey wing. The development aims to provide 150 social rent dwellings, along with 539 square metres of affordable workspace. The plans also include landscaped public areas.
Edmansons Close Planning Application
The Planning Sub Committee was scheduled to discuss two applications relating to Edmansons Close, Bruce Grove: a full planning application and a listed building consent application.
The full planning application, HGY/2022/4319, requests permission for:
- Demolition of the existing laundry building and a 1970s infill building.
- Alterations and extensions to 44 existing almshouses to create 8 one-bedroom, 12 two-bedroom, and 6 three-bedroom homes.
- Alterations to the existing Gatehouse to provide 1 two-bedroom home.
- Construction of a new-build three-bedroom home to replace the 1970s infill building.
- Construction of a new apartment building comprising 7 studio homes and 9 one-bedroom homes.
- Construction of 4 new-build two-bedroom homes within two new pavilions (2 homes in each pavilion, 4 homes in total).
- Landscaping.
- Improvements to access and car parking.
The listed building consent application, HGY/2022/4320, covers the same works as the full planning application, specifically in relation to the listed buildings on the site.
Archway Road Planning Application
The committee was scheduled to consider planning application HGY/2025/1220 for 505-511 Archway Road, Hornsey. The proposal involves the redevelopment of an existing car wash site to provide 16 new council homes. The development would consist of a four-storey building fronting Archway Road and two two-storey houses fronting Bakers Lane. The plans also include associated refuse/recycling stores, cycle stores, service space, amenity space, and landscaping.
Update on Major Proposals
The Planning Sub-Committee was scheduled to receive an update on major proposals in the pipeline. This included proposals awaiting the issue of a decision notice following committee resolution and signature of a Section 106 agreement1, applications submitted and awaiting determination, and proposals being discussed at the pre-application stage.
Applications Determined Under Delegated Powers
The committee was scheduled to be advised of decisions made on planning applications under delegated powers between 1 September 2025 and 30 September 2025.
