The Cornwall Health and Wellbeing Board and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Partnership are holding a meeting to discuss several key issues, including the strategic commissioning framework for neighbourhood health, the Better Care Fund, pharmaceutical needs, health determinants research, mental health, safeguarding adults, and the NHS 5 Year Plan. The meeting will also cover updates from the ICB and councils, as well as reports from life course steering groups.
Strategic Commissioning Framework for Neighbourhood Health
The meeting will include a discussion of the Strategic Commissioning Framework for Neighbourhood Health through Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs). Integrated Neighbourhood Teams are designed to bring together various health and social care professionals to provide more coordinated and accessible care at a local level. The framework aims to improve the integration of services and ensure that residents receive the right care in their communities.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
A report on a collaborative approach to mental health and wellbeing promotion and prevention of 'deaths of despair' will be presented. This report will likely cover strategies and initiatives aimed at improving mental health services and reducing suicide rates in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. NHS 5 Year Plan
The board will be discussing the NHS 5 Year Plan, also known as the Joint Forward Plan and ICB 5 Year Commissioning Plan. This plan sets out the priorities and strategies for the National Health Service 1 over the next five years, including commissioning plans. The report pack includes several appendices to the plan.
Better Care Fund
The Committee in Common will be reviewing the Better Care Fund 2 2025-26 Quarter 2 National Return. The Better Care Fund aims to better integrate health and social care services. The report pack includes the report and two appendices.
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) for 2025-2028 will be discussed. The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment identifies the current and future pharmaceutical needs of the local population and informs the commissioning of pharmacy services to meet those needs. The report pack includes the PNA and a supplementary statement.
Health Determinants Research Collaboration
The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Cornwall Annual Progress Report will be presented. The HDRC focuses on research to understand and address the factors that influence health outcomes in the region. The report pack includes the progress report and two appendices.
Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report for 2024-2025 will be reviewed. The Safeguarding Adults Board oversees and coordinates efforts to protect adults at risk of abuse or neglect. The report pack includes the annual report and an appendix.
Life Course Steering Groups and Integrated Commissioning Partnership Group
A highlight report from the life course steering groups and Integrated Commissioning Partnership Group will be presented. This report will provide updates on the activities and outcomes of these groups, which focus on improving health and wellbeing across different stages of life.
Other Items
