The Tynedale Community Partnership meeting was scheduled to discuss policing and community safety, as well as consider appointments to outside bodies. An informal discussion session was also planned to cover topics such as Healthy High Streets
and the Hexham to Corbridge Active Travel Corridor
.
Policing and Community Safety Update
Inspector Kate Benson of Neighbourhood Policing (Rural) was scheduled to attend to provide an update on policing matters within the Tynedale area and to answer questions from members.
Appointments to Outside Bodies
Members were due to confirm their continued appointments to various outside bodies. These included the Northumberland Bus Board, for which Councillor John Robert Riddle was listed as the appointee, and the Queens Hall Arts Trust, with Councillor Suzanne Holly Fairless-Aitken as the appointee. A vacancy was noted for the Prudhoe Community Partnership. These appointments had been deferred from a previous meeting on 16 September 2025.
Informal Discussion Session
An informal discussion session was scheduled to take place, with representatives from the Regeneration Team expected to attend to discuss Healthy High Streets
. Additionally, officers from the Strategic Transport Team were to be present to discuss the Hexham to Corbridge Active Travel Corridor
.
Petitions
The Partnership was scheduled to receive any new petitions submitted by the public. It was also due to consider reports on petitions previously received, specifically the Twenty's Plenty for Ovingham
petition. Updates on any petitions for which a report had already been considered were also to be provided verbally.
Public Question Time
A period was allocated for members of the public to ask questions. Questions could be submitted in writing in advance of the meeting or asked during the session, provided they related to matters for which the Council had responsibility. The Chair of the meeting had discretion over the management of public question time, with certain categories of questions, such as those requiring the disclosure of confidential information or those deemed defamatory, frivolous, or offensive, being subject to rejection.
Disclosure of Members' Interests
Members were reminded of their obligations regarding the disclosure of interests, as outlined in the Council's Code of Conduct. This included disclosing Disclosable Pecuniary Interests (DPIs) and Other Registrable Interests, and in some cases, withdrawing from discussions and votes. Clarification on these matters could be sought from monitoringofficer@northumberland.gov.uk.
Apologies for Absence and Notes of Previous Meeting
The meeting was scheduled to begin with the usual formalities of receiving apologies for absence and reviewing the notes of the previous Tynedale Community Partnership meeting held on Tuesday, 16 September 2025. These notes were provided for information only.
