Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Haringey and are not the council. About us
The Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee is scheduled to review annual reports from Adopt London North and the Children in Service Health Service, alongside performance data for children's social care. The meeting will also consider the Q3 performance for 2025-26, which includes updates on children looked after, care leavers, and adoption statistics.
Adopt London North Annual Report 2024-25
The committee is scheduled to receive the annual report from Adopt London North (ALN) for the period April 2024 to March 2025. ALN is a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) formed by six London boroughs: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, and Islington. The report is expected to detail ALN's operations, including the recruitment and assessment of adoptive parents, family finding for children with adoption care plans, and the provision of adoption support. It will likely cover challenges faced, such as the national drop in adoptive parent sufficiency and changes to the Adoption & Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF). The report will also highlight ALN's work in areas like the Black Adoption Project, aimed at reducing disparities for Black and mixed Black heritage children, and efforts to improve support for adoptive families and adopted adults.
Children in Service Health Service Annual Report 2024-25
This report outlines the work undertaken by the Children in Care health team between April 2024 and March 2025, in accordance with statutory guidance on promoting the health and well-being of looked-after children. It is expected to detail the health services provided to children in care, covering aspects such as health assessments and dental checks.
Performance Q3 2025-26
The committee is scheduled to review the performance data for Children Looked After (CLA) services for the third quarter of the 2025-26 financial year, with updates available for January 2026. This report will provide an analysis of performance data and trends relating to children in care, care leavers, and those who have ceased to be looked after. It will benchmark Haringey's performance against its statistical neighbours and national averages, highlighting progress, areas for improvement, and future priorities for vulnerable children. The report is expected to cover key areas such as the number of children in care, placement stability, missing from care incidents, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, adoption rates, and services for care leavers.
The report will also detail the outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the number of children with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. Specific attention will be given to the number of children looked after, the types of placements used, and placement stability, with a focus on ensuring children are in stable environments. The report is also expected to address the progress made in adoption, including efforts to reduce disparities for children of global majority heritage and to increase the number of adopters from Black heritage backgrounds.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 17th March 2026.
