Licensing Sub Committee - Thursday, 20th March, 2025 2.00 p.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee made two decisions at the meeting. The application for a new licence for Fresh Feast at 44 Artillery Lane was refused. The application for a new licence for Popular Pizza at 536 Commercial Road was adjourned pending the submission of medical evidence. The Sub-Committee also agreed to extend the deadlines for seven applications to June 2025.
Licensing Sub Committee - Tuesday, 4th March, 2025 2.00 p.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider two applications for new premises licences, for 9 Morgan Street and for Shoreditch & Soul at 110-116 Cheshire Street. The committee agreed to grant the application for 9 Morgan Street, with conditions, but did not make a decision on the application for Shoreditch & Soul. The application for Shoreditch & Soul is to be dealt with by officers under delegated powers.
Licensing Sub Committee - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 2.00 p.m.
The Licensing Sub-committee refused an application for a new premises licence from Lebanese Grill Express LTD for the Lebanese Grill at 80 Brick Lane. They also approved an application for a new premises licence from Bad Boy Pizza Bethnal Limited for Bad Boy Pizza at 419 Bethnal Green Road subject to conditions. Finally they approved the extension of the decision deadline to April 2025 for a number of other applications.
Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee - Monday, 24th February, 2025 6.30 p.m.
At this meeting, the committee heard reports about the performance of social landlords in the borough, the resident engagement work of the Tenants' Voice Panel, and how the council is working to ensure compliance and regulation regarding fire safety and treating damp and mould.
Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 13th February, 2025 6.30 p.m.
The committee heard two presentations, one on the provision of free school meals in Tower Hamlets and one on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and the advice that the council gives to schools on it. At the end of the discussion about RSE, the committee voted to request that the cabinet review the council's advice to schools to ensure that it reflects national guidance.
