The Council meeting on 15 April 2026 saw the approval of the Bexley Community Safety Partnership Strategy 2026-2030 and the adoption of a revised Council Constitution. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to a motion regretting the impact of the Labour government on Bexley residents, which was carried by a majority vote. The meeting also included the appointment of a new Deputy Director for Legal and Democratic Services, who will also serve as the Monitoring Officer. Finally, the Council recorded its sincere appreciation for the service of 14 councillors who were not seeking re-election.

Members' Code of Conduct Committee - Tuesday, 31 March 2026 - 7.30 pm

The Members' Code of Conduct Committee of Bexley Council met on Tuesday 31 March 2026 to discuss updates on complaints received under the Members' Code of Conduct and to consider the extension of the term of office for Independent Persons. The committee agreed to recommend the extension of the term of office for Independent Persons until May 2027.

General Purposes and Audit Committee - Thursday, 26 March 2026 - 7.30 pm

The General Purposes and Audit Committee of Bexley Council was scheduled to discuss updated financial regulations and contract procedure rules, alongside the annual auditor's report from Ernst & Young LLP (EY) for the year ended 31 March 2025. The meeting agenda also included provisional audit planning reports for Bexley's 2025/26 accounts and the Bexley Pension Fund's 2025/26 accounts, as well as progress reports on internal audit and counter fraud activities.

The Finance and Corporate Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee met on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, to discuss the Council's People Strategy and Culture Transformation Programme, the findings of a sub-group on local authority funding and resourcing challenges, and the implementation of the Procurement Act 2023. The committee also received updates from Cabinet Members and reviewed the committee's work programme.
