This report is Aberdeenshire Council’s draft Public Bodies Climate Change Duties Report for 2023-24. The report is produced annually and is a mandatory requirement of all public bodies. It demonstrates Aberdeenshire Council’s compliance with the Public Bodies Climate Change Duties as stated within the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009. It is for the consideration of the Sustainability Committee before its submission to the Scottish Government by 30 November 2024.

Carbon Budget Process Update

This report provides an update to the Sustainability Committee on suggested changes to the Carbon Budget process for 2025-26. The Committee is asked to consider the limited efficiencies and effectiveness of providing targets for each Directorate in the Carbon Budget process and seeks support to remove these targets for a more One Aberdeenshire approach to climate change mitigation.
