The Children's and Culture Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key issues, including updates to the Young Carers Scrutiny Review Action Plan, the Childcare Sufficiency in Lincolnshire, and the Children's Services Annual Statutory Complaints Report. The committee agreed to receive a second monitoring update on the Young Carers Scrutiny Review Action Plan in April 2026, and were assured on the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for 2025 and the performance of children's services in relation to the annual statutory complaints report. Community Safety Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 30th September, 2025 10.00 am

The Community Safety Scrutiny Committee convened to discuss several key issues, including the Stay Safe Partnership's annual report, progress following the His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) inspection of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, and the Grenfell Tower Phase 1 and 2 reports. The committee approved the planned work programme for 2025 and 2026, subject to the consideration of items discussed.

Councillor Stephen Bunney, Chairman of the Council, opened the meeting with tributes to former councillors and staff, before councillors moved to discuss the financial performance review, the youth justice plan, and a motion regarding asylum seekers. Councillors approved the Lincolnshire Youth Justice Plan 2025-28, and voted to approve an amended motion regarding the location of asylum seekers in the county. They also approved the calendar of meetings for 2026/27, and made appointments to committees and outside bodies.

The Lincolnshire County Council's Highways and Transport Scrutiny Committee met on 8 September 2025, and members reviewed the regional rail strategy, highways performance, major projects, and road safety initiatives. The committee supported a recommendation to approve the proposed Bailgate, Lincoln Scheme, and also supported the proposed recommendation to approve the Spalding – Pinchbeck Active Travel Cycleway tender award. The committee also supported recommendations to approve three strategic resurfacing schemes for the A6121 Ryhall Road, Stamford, the A17/A151 Holbeach and Fleet Hargate, and the A52 Leverton and Haltoft End.
