The Education, SEND & Inclusion Cabinet Panel of Hertfordshire Council met on Thursday 6 November 2025, to discuss several key issues, including public petitions, school reorganisations, the SEND strategy, and the expansion of Southfield School. The panel addressed a petition to save Sandon JMI School, ultimately deciding to defer a decision on its potential closure for a year. They also voted to proceed with public consultations regarding the potential closures of St Nicholas Elstree Church of England Primary School and Albury Church of England VA Primary School. Finally, the panel approved a recommendation to cabinet to expand Southfield School and agreed to a public consultation on the draft SEND strategy.

Development Control Committee - Friday, 24 October 2025 10.00 am

The Development Control Committee of Hertfordshire County Council met on Friday 24 October 2025 and voted to approve an application to change the use of a property on Melbourne Road, Royston from a residential dwelling (Class C3) to a care home (Class C2). The committee heard arguments for and against the proposal, and ultimately voted in favour of granting planning permission, subject to four conditions.

County Council - Tuesday, 21 October 2025 10.00 am

The Hertfordshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the appointment of a chair to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, political proportionality on committees, and a petition regarding the Hertfordshire Local Government Pension Scheme. The council also discussed and approved a new corporate plan, and heard reports from various committees.

Public Health & Community Safety Cabinet Panel - Thursday, 9 October 2025 10.00 am

The Public Health & Community Safety Cabinet Panel are scheduled to meet to discuss a refresh of the Hertfordshire Public Health Suicide Prevention Strategy, a Prevent update, the Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service annual performance report, an HMICFRS inspection update and a Trading Standards update.

Development Control Committee - Thursday, 25 September 2025 10.00 am

The Development Control Committee met to discuss an application for the construction of two digestate lagoons at The Vineries in Green Tye. Councillors approved the application, concluding that it aligned with sustainability principles and that potential impacts could be managed through permit conditions. The committee also confirmed the minutes of the previous meeting.
