The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Principal Social Worker's annual report, the Families First programme, and the committee's work programme for the coming year. The committee noted the successes in social worker recruitment and retention, and discussed the implementation of the government's Families First programme in Lancashire. The committee also agreed to add an update on the Families First programme to their work programme for the meeting on 15 April 2026, with a focus on the impact of local government reorganisation.

The Full Council of Lancashire Council is scheduled to meet on 20 November 2025 to discuss local government reorganisation, committee appointments, and updates to the council's constitution. The meeting will also address questions from councillors and consider several notices of motion. Reports from the cabinet and various committees are also scheduled to be noted.

Audit, Risk and Governance Committee - Monday, 13th October, 2025 2.00 pm

The Audit, Risk and Governance Committee met to discuss external and internal audit reports, the risk management strategy, and the corporate risk and opportunity register. The committee approved the new risk management strategy and the updated corporate risk and opportunity register. Members requested more information on school places, local transport funding, and subcontractor costs.
