Special, Standards Committee - Wednesday 15 October 2025 1.00 pm

The Standards Committee of County Durham Council was scheduled to meet to discuss updates to the Procedure for Member Code of Conduct Complaints. The proposed changes included introducing a Standards Assessment Board, offering informal resolutions to code of conduct breaches, and clarifying the process for handling complaints. The committee was also expected to discuss delegating authority to the Director of Legal and Democratic Services to make minor amendments to the procedure.

This was a special joint meeting of the Economy and Enterprise Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Environment and Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee. The main item for discussion was a report and presentation on fuel poverty in County Durham. Councillors were expected to comment on the report and presentation, and to consider receiving a further update on fuel poverty at a future meeting.

Special, Police and Crime Panel - Thursday 9 October 2025 10.15 am

The Durham County Council Police and Crime Panel met on Thursday 9 October 2025 to discuss a number of issues, including a report on a High Court Judgement relating to police participation in Pride events, a complaint against the Police and Crime Commissioner, and the appointment of an Independent Co-opted Member to the Panel. The meeting was held at County Hall, Durham.

The Durham Police and Crime Panel met to discuss the Police and Crime Commissioner's annual report, the latest performance figures, and the force's workforce strategy. They were also scheduled to discuss the appointment of an independent co-opted member to the panel, and to review the panel's work programme.
