Planning Committee - Thursday, 11th December, 2025 10.30 am

The Cardiff Council Planning Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, 11 December 2025 to discuss development management applications, including a proposal to change the use of the former Ibis Budget hotel on Tyndall Street and a proposal to vary conditions relating to a premises on Beulah Road in Rhiwbina. The committee will also look to approve the minutes of their previous meeting.

Council - Thursday, 27th November, 2025 4.30 pm

The Cardiff Council met on 27 November 2025, and approved sending the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for independent examination. Councillors also agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a visitor levy in the city.

Economy & Culture Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 18th November, 2025 4.30 pm

The Economy and Culture Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Football Facilities Strategic Framework, a proposed visitor levy, and the Cardiff Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP). Councillors scrutinised the progress of the Football Facilities Strategic Framework, discussed the visitor levy proposals, and sought assurance that previous scrutiny recommendations were incorporated into the RLDP deposit plan.

Planning Committee - Thursday, 6th November, 2025 10.30 am

The Planning Committee of Cardiff Council met to discuss several planning applications, including the redevelopment of the former Howells department store, a stopping up order for John Street, and a new hotel on Queen Street. The committee approved the Howells development, subject to conditions and referral to CADW[^2], and also approved the stopping up orders and the Queen Street hotel.
