Greenwich Council has reviewed its financial strategy, debated the future of adventure playgrounds, and discussed government funding cuts. The council also appointed His Honour Judge Andrew Lees as the Honorary Recorder for the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Licensing Sub-Committee B - Tuesday, 16th September, 2025 10.30 am
The Royal Borough of Greenwich's Licensing Sub-Committee B convened to discuss a request from Mr Prakash Patel, also known as Tom, on behalf of The Ship Sports Bar Limited, to modify the premises licence for The Ship Public House at 205 Plumstead Common Road. The committee ultimately decided to refuse the request to vary the licence. The application sought to remove a condition preventing patrons from taking drinks outside and to extend the licensed area to include the forecourt, accommodating 45 customers until 21:00 daily.
Pension Fund Investment & Administration Panel - Monday, 15th September, 2025 10.30 am
The Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund Investment & Administration Panel met on 15 September 2025 to discuss the Pension Board's annual report, the draft pension fund annual report and statement of accounts, the draft responsible investment policy, actuarial valuation assumptions, fund manager performance, and training on valuation assumptions. The panel approved the Draft Pension Fund Business Plan for 2025/26, with an amendment to bring forward the review of the statement of responsible investment policy to the September 2025 meeting. The panel also noted the expected impact of the Pension Schemes Bill on the Fund.
Audit and Risk Management Panel - Wednesday, 3rd September, 2025 6.30 pm
The Royal Borough of Greenwich Audit and Risk Management Panel met to discuss the council's cyber risk position, the implementation of the Procurement Act 2023[^2], the strategic risk register, the annual governance statement, internal audit performance, and the draft statement of accounts. The panel agreed to consider the report on cyber risk in a closed session and reviewed the draft Annual Governance Statement 2024/25, providing comments prior to approval of the 2024-25 Statement of Accounts. The panel also noted the Internal Audit and Anti-Fraud performance report for the period 1 April to 30 June 2025.
