Audit and Risk Management Panel - Tuesday, 25th February, 2025 6.30 pm

The Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Audit and Risk Management Panel met to note the Statement of Accounts 2023/24, the Treasury Management and Capital Strategy 2025/26 and the Strategic Risk Register on Tuesday 25 February 2025. The Panel noted the Statement of Accounts and requested a written update to Full Council on the value for money arrangements, as set out in the draft External Auditor's Management Report. They also noted both the Treasury Management and Capital Strategy 2025/26 and the Strategic Risk Register, asking for an update on the Workforce Strategy.

The Planning Board approved two applications: the demolition of all existing buildings on a site at 141-143 Woolwich Road to be replaced with a mixed-use development of purpose-built student accommodation and commercial units, and the rear extension of a mixed-use property at 148-156 Plumstead High Street to provide 13 new residential units.

Transport and Place Scrutiny Panel - Thursday, 6th February, 2025 6.30 pm

This meeting's agenda is an opportunity for Councillors to scrutinise transport providers in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Representatives from Southeastern Railway, Network Rail and Govia Thameslink Railway are scheduled to provide updates on their activities in the Borough. The Council agreed to reduce the maximum level of support available through the Local Council Tax Support Scheme 2025-26 from 100% to 80% and agreed to reduce the time before charging a Council Tax Premium to unfurnished and unoccupied properties from 2 years to 12 months. They also noted the appointment of Councillor Sandra Bauer as the new Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, and voted to adopt a motion on protecting leaseholders from the cost of fire safety remediation work.
