Finally, the Cabinet reviewed the Quarter 3 Budget Monitoring report, noting an £18.6 million General Fund overspend, and noted the Record of Corporate Director's Actions.

The Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee met to discuss resident engagement with Sanctuary Housing and receive an update on the Housing Capital Works Investment Programme. Key issues raised included persistent problems with heating, hot water, and lift repairs for Sanctuary Housing residents, alongside a significant investment programme for council housing stock improvements.

Transformation and Assurance Board - Tuesday, 24 February 2026 - 10.00 a.m.

The Transformation and Assurance Board was scheduled to discuss a comprehensive action plan designed to address statutory recommendations and significant weaknesses identified by EY. The meeting was also set to consider the strategic direction for the council's future improvement work.

The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 18 February 2026 saw the approval of a significant £609 million investment in the borough's housing stock over the next two years, alongside the adoption of a new ten-year Housing Strategy. Key decisions were also made regarding school admissions arrangements for 2027/28 and a revised procurement strategy for capital investment programmes.
