Executive - Thursday, 23rd May, 2024 7.00 pm
The meeting made a number of decisions, including approving the grant of a lease to Sunnyside Community Gardens, agreeing to a sub-lease of 2-4 Old Street Yard to FareShare, approving the Executive's response to the Health and Care Scrutiny Committee's report on the transformation of Adult Social Care, and agreeing changes to the council's executive committee arrangements.
Annual Council - Thursday, 16th May, 2024 7.30 pm
Councillor Anjna Khurana was elected as Mayor of Islington for 2024/25, with Councillor Jason Jackson as her deputy. Outgoing Mayor, Councillor Gary Heather, was thanked for his service to the borough. Councillor Kaya Comer-Schwartz announced a refreshed Executive, with new responsibilities and some changes in personnel. The Council also approved a number of constitutional amendments relating to the operation of scrutiny, changes to the Members’ Allowances Scheme and procurement rules, and the membership and terms of reference for the Council’s committees.

The meeting made a total of four decisions. It approved a plan to amalgamate two primary schools, agreed a new Carers' Strategy, allocated a Public Health Grant and gave thanks to a retiring staff member.

The Executive agreed to close Blessed Sacrament RC Primary School on 31 July 2024. The school is significantly under capacity, with a 64% vacancy rate and just six pupils in Reception.
Pensions Committee - Monday, 11th March, 2024 7.00 pm
The Pensions Committee met on 11 March 2024 and discussed the performance of the Islington Pension Fund. Members noted updates on the implementation of the fund's investment strategy and progress at the London Collective Investment Vehicle (CIV). The Committee also agreed to renew its subscription to the shareholder advisory services of the Pensions & Investment Research Consultants (PIRC).
