Planning Committee - Thursday, 14th November, 2024 7.00 pm

The meeting was about making decisions on five planning applications. The applications included proposals for a mixed use development on Malden Road, the erection of a new commercial building on Saffron Hill and the intensification of employment uses at Highgate Studios.

Housing Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 12th November, 2024 6.30 pm

The Housing Scrutiny Committee noted updates on the Housing Transformation Programme, anti-social behaviour (ASB) policy, rough sleeping services review, estate parking strategy, and homelessness scrutiny panel actions. It also reviewed a report from the Cabinet Member for Better Homes. It was agreed that the Asset Management Strategy (Cabinet Report) would now be presented at the January 2025 meeting instead of the December 2024 meeting. A deputation on Holmes Road Depot and its direct labour force was received from Alice Brown, Climate Emergency, who expressed concern about the lack of publicly available data on the amount of work done by the direct labour force compared to contractors and subcontractors. Brown argued for greater transparency in procurement processes to tackle the climate emergency effectively.

Policy and Performance, Planning Committee - Monday, 4th November, 2024 7.00 pm

This meeting of Camden Council's Planning Committee included reports on a wide range of topics including; national planning reforms, the digitisation of the planning process, updates on performance and planning enforcement, and proposed changes to the Planning Protocol in the Council's constitution.

Housing Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 7th October, 2024 6.30 pm

The Housing Scrutiny Committee received an update from officers on the Regulator of Social Housing's Tenant Satisfaction Measures and noted that Camden's figures for anti-social behaviour were higher than in other local authorities because the Council allowed tenants to self-identify as having been victims of it. The committee also discussed housing repairs and capital works and noted the progress being made. Finally, the committee considered the Council's response to the recent report of the Cabinet Adviser on Improving Services to Camden Leaseholders and Advocating for Leaseholders and noted the measures being taken to improve services for leaseholders.
