Young People, Learning and Employment Policy and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 1st October, 2024 6.30 pm

The committee received and discussed reports on Shaping Services for Children with Disabilities, and on the work carried out by the Care Leavers Task Group, and approved the recommendations in both reports. The committee also discussed its work programme for 2024-2025, and agreed that an update on schools and falling school rolls, as well as on the results of a recent Youth Offending Team inspection would be provided to the committee. Additionally the committee agreed that the unallocated item on Free School Meals would be included as a substantive item on a future work programme. The committee then moved into a closed session to discuss The Future of Leisure Management in Westminster.

Housing and Regeneration Policy and Scrutiny Committee - Monday 30th September, 2024 6.30 pm

The meeting discussed the adoption of a new Vulnerability and Domestic Abuse Policy and associated procedures by Westminster City Council's Housing Service, and agreed to consult the public on the introduction of a selective licensing scheme for private rented properties in the borough. The Committee made four recommendations about the Vulnerability and Domestic Abuse Policy, and three recommendations about the selective licensing proposals.

Council - Wednesday 18th September, 2024 7.00 pm

At this meeting of the full council, a number of petitions and questions were presented by members of the public, two topics were debated by Councillors, a new Instrument of Governance for the Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) was approved, and a motion was passed relating to supporting pensioners struggling with the cost of living.

This meeting of the Vulnerable Adults, Health and Communities Policy and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss the council's Winter hot meal provision pilot, its work programme, and Community Pharmacy provisions in Westminster. A report on Community Pharmacy provision was submitted to the committee by Hitesh Patel, the Chief Officer of Community Pharmacy KCW, and a report on the Winter hot meal provision pilot was submitted by Khatija Rasool, Strategic Delivery Lead for Bi-Borough Adult Social Care and Health.
