Council - Monday 24th March 2025 7.30 p.m.
The Newham Council meeting on 24 March 2025 included discussions on belonging and inclusion in Newham, and the adoption of a reviewed statement of licensing policy. The council also agreed to provide Councillor Mohammed Gani with a dispensation for non-attendance at meetings until 20 October 2025 due to ill health.
Council - Thursday 27th February 2025 7.00 p.m.
Newham Council approved its annual budget for 2025/26 which included a council tax rise of 8.99%. Two amendments to the budget, one from the Newham Independent Group and one from the Green Group were rejected.
SACRE - Wednesday 26th February 2025 7.00 p.m.
The meeting was about approving the minutes from the previous meeting and considering the SACRE’s priorities for the year. The members were also scheduled to receive an update on the forum of faiths and the RE Matters programme.
Crime, Environment and Transport Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 25th February 2025 7.00 p.m.
The Commission noted the draft Air Quality Action Plan 2025-2030, and the accompanying report from officers. It also noted the report on the council's Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) services. It agreed that the Air Quality Action Plan 2025-2030 should go out to public consultation, and made a number of recommendations about both reports to the relevant Cabinet members and officers.
Local Development Committee - Monday 24th February 2025 6.30 p.m.
The meeting considered three planning applications for sites in Royal Albert, Plaistow South and Canning Town South. It also included for confirmation the minutes of the previous meeting, which took place on the 25th November 2024.
