Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Health and Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee met to discuss accident and emergency (A&E) waiting times, winter planning, and the committee's draft work programme. The committee heard that Royal London Hospital A&E is performing well, and discussed ways to improve performance further. They also scrutinised the Tower Hamlets winter plan, and agreed to add the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection findings to their work programme.

The Tower Hamlets Health and Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee met to discuss health and adult social care priorities for 2025-26, preparations for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, and the sub-committee's draft work programme. The committee agreed to review postnatal support for black, Asian, and multi-ethnic mothers, and also discussed A&E waiting times, winter pressures, and performance data.

Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 21st July, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Overview & Scrutiny Committee in Tower Hamlets met to discuss the Strategic Delivery Performance Report for Quarter 4, the Budget Monitoring Report for 2024/25, and the Strategic Vision 2035 Development and Engagement plan. Councillors raised concerns about recycling rates, the council's overspend on homelessness services, and the timetable for the new strategic vision.

Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 11th June, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to discuss a report on hate crime reporting and the direct award of contracts for domiciliary care services. Councillor Abdi Mohamed presented a report on hate crime reporting, which was well-received by the committee, and the committee agreed to send it to the cabinet. The committee then moved into a closed session to discuss the Domiciliary Care Service Direct Award of Contract.

Councillor Abdul Wahid, Chair of Overview & Scrutiny Committee, led a meeting where the committee elected Councillor Abdul Mannan as Vice-Chair and appointed scrutiny lead members to sub-committees. The committee also reviewed a report on maternity care and a challenge session on net zero emissions, agreeing on recommendations for both.
