The council meeting focused on several key community issues, including the progress of the LGA corporate peer review action plan, the insourcing of leisure provision, parking enforcement, and market challenges. The mayor's spotlight was postponed due to a bereavement.

Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 18th April, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The final Scrutiny Committee meeting of the municipal year focused on reviewing progress in maternity services and addressing workforce shortages in healthcare. The meeting also touched on mental health services, although detailed discussions were deferred due to the absence of a key report and presenter.

Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 20th February, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee met on 20 February 2024 and discussed two main issues; the quality of Maternity Services in the borough, and access to GP services, both during and outside of office hours. The Sub-Committee will receive an update from BARTS Health NHS Trust at their next meeting, on 18 April 2024, setting out how they will improve Maternity Services.

The Overview & Scrutiny Committee discussed the Council's Cost of Living support policies, received updates from several organisations working with vulnerable people in Tower Hamlets, and agreed to provide some written feedback to the Cabinet and the Mayor.
