Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission - Monday 16 June 2025 7.00 pm

The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission met to discuss corporate property management, fleet decarbonisation, and to plan their work programme for the coming year. Councillors reviewed the council's progress on asset transformation and fleet electrification, and discussed how these initiatives align with the council's strategic goals and financial position. The commission also agreed the minutes of their previous meeting held on 10 March 2025.

Licensing Sub Committee B - Monday 9 June 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council Licensing Sub-Committee B convened on 9 June 2025, addressing a premises licence review for Bar 161, 161 Mare Street and a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) objection for Night Tales, Units 13-15 Bohemia Place. The committee ultimately decided to issue a counter notice for the TEN, preventing the event from proceeding, and deferred the review of the premises licence for Bar 161.

Licensing Sub Committee A - Wednesday 4 June 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council Licensing Sub Committee A met to consider a licensing application and temporary event notices. The main item for discussion was an application to vary a premises licence for Ringside, located at 22 Kingsland Road. The committee was also scheduled to discuss the procedure for licensing sub-committee hearings.

Licensing Committee - Wednesday 21 May 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council Licensing Committee convened to discuss and approve several key items, including the Late Night Levy's financial performance and future strategies, and the establishment of licensing sub-committees for the upcoming year. Councillor Gilbert Smyth was noted as Chair and Councillor Richard Lufkin as Vice Chair. The committee approved recommendations regarding the Late Night Levy annual financial report, the Late Night Levy Year 8 Quarter 1 update, and the establishment of five licensing sub-committees for 2025/26.

Annual Meeting, Council - Wednesday 14 May 2025 7.00 pm

The annual meeting of Hackney Council included the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker, the establishment of committees, and a review of procedure rules. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss appointments to outside bodies and a dispensation to extend the six-month rule for Councillor Michael Levy.
