North Northamptonshire Council met to discuss the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Plan, and to agree changes to the political balance on council committees. The council approved the recommendations set out in the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Plan 2024/25, and also approved changes to political balance on its committees.

Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 23rd September, 2025 6.30 pm, NEW

The Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee of North Northamptonshire Council met on 23 September 2025 to discuss a range of issues, including fire safety, cemetery regulations, transport, and community involvement in planning. The committee scrutinised a draft housing fire safety policy, provided feedback on proposed cemetery regulations, discussed the development of a local transport plan, and considered a revised statement of community involvement.

Scrutiny Management Board - Monday 22nd September, 2025 7.00 pm

At a meeting of the North Northamptonshire Council's Scrutiny Management Board, Councillor Trevor Conway was appointed chair, the Scrutiny Executive Protocol was approved, the Scrutiny Development Plan was approved, and the Scrutiny Work Programme for 2025/26 was approved. The North Northamptonshire Council's Scrutiny Management Board meeting on 11 September 2025 was adjourned due to a lack of quorum. The meeting was unable to conduct any business, but the agenda included discussion and potential approval of the Scrutiny Executive Protocol 2025, the Scrutiny Development Plan 2025, and the Scrutiny Work Programme 2025/26.

Council - Wednesday 3rd September, 2025 6.00 pm

At a meeting on 3 September 2025, North Northamptonshire Council discussed a range of issues, including public health, the appointment of independent persons, and political balance on council committees. Councillors approved the Director of Public Health’s annual report, the establishment of an Independent Remuneration Panel, and a scheme for the enrolment of Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen. They also voted on several motions, approving those related to planning committees and business rates, while rejecting motions concerning a planning issue in Loddington/Cransley, service harmonisation and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
