Audit & Governance Committee - Monday 13th October 2025 6.30 pm

The Audit and Governance Committee met to discuss the external audit progress, the internal audit progress, the internal audit charter, the risk report, and the treasury report. The committee approved the Internal Audit Charter and noted the other reports. A suggestion was made to add a self-assessment of the committee's effectiveness to the work programme, but this was not agreed.

Boston Borough Council met to discuss the 2024/25 outturn report, appointments to committees, the designation of a Section 151 officer[^2], the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership performance, and a motion to replace the Chairman of the Planning Committee. The council approved the transfer of a £1.015 million surplus to the volatility reserve, made appointments to committee vice-chairmanships and outside bodies, designated a Section 151 officer, and voted to replace Councillor David Middleton as Chairman of the Planning Committee with Councillor Peter Bedford.

Licensing Committee - Tuesday 23rd September 2025 2.00 pm

The Licensing Committee of Boston Borough Council met on Tuesday 23 September 2025, to review the responses to a public consultation on the proposed draft of the Licensing Act 2003 Statement of Licensing Policy. The committee was also scheduled to approve the proposed policy for referral to the council for adoption and publication.

Full Council - Monday 21st July 2025 6.30 pm

Boston Council's meeting on 21 July 2025 saw Councillor Dale Broughton elected as the new leader of the council following a motion to remove Councillor Anne Dorrian from the position, and the approval of budget adjustments for the capital programme. The council also discussed the annual treasury report and the allocation of seats on committees.

The committee agreed to review and approve the Annual Governance Statement for 2024/25 and scrutinise the Annual Treasury Report 2024/25.
