Governance and Audit Committee - Thursday, 3rd July, 2025 10.00 am

The Governance and Audit Committee of Kent County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the external audit plans for both the council and its pension fund, the corporate risk register, and updates on counter-fraud measures and internal audits. Councillor Michael Brown was elected as chair, and Councillor Martin Paul as vice-chair of the committee.

Kent Flood Risk and Water Management Committee - Wednesday, 2nd July, 2025 10.00 am

The Kent Flood Risk and Water Management Committee met to discuss recent weather events and the responses to them, with a particular focus on the fragility of the water infrastructure. Councillor Wayne Chapman was elected as the new chair of the committee. The committee agreed to invite representatives from the Environment Agency and the Met Office to future meetings to present their data.

Annual Meeting, County Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 10.00 am

At the annual meeting of Kent County Council, Councillor Richard Palmer was elected as the new Chairman, and Councillor Peter Evans was elected as Vice-Chairman. Councillor Lyndon Kemkaran was elected as the Leader of the Council, and Councillor Antony Hook was appointed Leader of the Opposition.
