The meeting of Surrey Council included discussion of the Surrey Youth Justice Plan 2025/26, questions from councillors to cabinet members, and briefings from cabinet members. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss the minutes from previous meetings of the council and the cabinet.
Surrey Police and Crime Panel - Thursday, 4 September 2025 10.30 am
The Surrey Police and Crime Panel met to discuss the Police and Crime Commissioner's (PCC) response to a HMICFRS[^2] report, the PCC's annual report, an update on the police and crime plan, and the medium-term financial forecast. The panel approved the HMICFRS report and requested a written update on progress against AFIs[^3] by the end of 2025. The panel also agreed to formally write to the PCC with any comments and recommendations regarding the annual report, and that future annual reports include a clear summary of progress against the priority objectives, deliverables and commitments in the new crime plan.
Children, Families, Lifelong Learning and Culture Select Committee - Wednesday, 16 July 2025 10.00 am
The Children, Families, Lifelong Learning and Culture Select Committee met to discuss several key issues, including progress in additional needs and disabilities support, the service's response to a recent Ofsted inspection, and performance overview reports. Councillors agreed to endorse recommendations to Cabinet regarding additional funding and staffing for SEND services, and also scrutinised Ofsted reports on council-run children's homes.

The Surrey County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including local government reorganisation, budget matters, and environmental concerns. Councillors approved changes to cabinet portfolios and committee appointments, and also voted to approve amendments to the council's constitution. A motion regarding the Planning and Infrastructure Bill was also passed.
AGM, Surrey Police and Crime Panel - Thursday, 19 June 2025 10.30 am
The Surrey Police and Crime Panel met to elect a chair, discuss the annual report, review the Police and Crime Plan, and re-establish sub-committees.
