In a meeting of the Northumberland County Council cabinet, councillors approved a new kerbside recycling collection model, several amendments to the capital programme, and a sales strategy for renewable electricity. The cabinet also decided to progress with plans for depot expansion at the Tyne Mills Depot in Hexham, and to continue discussions with the artist Sir Antony Gormley about a potential art store and gallery in Hexham.

Northumbria Road Safety Partnership Agreement

...to improve road safety across the Northumbria Police area, the Cabinet approved entering a new partnership agreement with Tyne and Wear local authorities, Northumbria Police, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Northumbria, superseding the existing Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative, and authorized the Executive Director of Place and Regeneration to execute necessary documentation, including cancelling outstanding invoices between Northumbria Police and local authority members, and agreed to an annual road safety meeting for transport portfolio holders.
