Cabinet - Tuesday, 24th March, 2026 5.30 p.m.

The Grants Determination (Cabinet) Sub-Committee of Tower Hamlets Council met on Wednesday 18 February 2026. The meeting reviewed the Mayor's Small Grants Programme, noting recommendations for improvement including increasing the Community Chest grant amount from £500 to £1,000 and changing the frequency of grants for positive activities for young people to once a year. The committee also received performance reports on the Mayor's Community Grants Programme (MCGP) for the periods January-March 2025 and April-June 2025, noting that the majority of projects were rated as 'Green' (on track), with some rated 'Amber' due to issues that could be resolved with support, and two projects rated 'Red' due to closure or administration.

Housing Management (Cabinet) Sub-Committee - Wednesday, 4th June, 2025 5.30 p.m.

The Housing Management Cabinet Sub-Committee convened to discuss key performance indicators, landlord compliance, tenant engagement, and strategic risks. The committee approved proposed risk management methodology and targets for the Housing Management Service, while also addressing concerns regarding repairs, complaints, void property turnaround times, and policy frameworks. The importance of resident involvement and satisfaction was a recurring theme throughout the meeting.

Grants Determination (Cabinet) Sub-Committee - Wednesday, 5th February, 2025 5.30 p.m.

The Grants Determination Sub-Committee agreed to renew the Section 92 Police Act 1996 grant agreement with the Metropolitan Police Service. This will see the council continue to directly fund a police task force of four sergeants and 22 officers. The Sub-Committee also noted a performance report on the Mayor's Community Grants Programme for July to September 2024. The Sub-Committee was content that two amber-rated projects had returned to a green rating and that a third, run by Platform Cricket, was expected to do so soon.
