The committee approved the planning application for the demolition of the existing building at 100 to 136 Cavell Street and its replacement with a part five, part nine storey building for use as life science space, and they confirmed their earlier decision to grant permission for the demolition and redevelopment of 2-6 Commercial Street, 98,101-105 Whitechapel High Street and the Canon Barnett Primary School.

Pensions Committee - Monday, 10th March, 2025 6.45 p.m.

The Pensions Committee noted updates on the administration of the Tower Hamlets pension fund, the progress of the scheme's data cleanse project and a report on the most recent meeting of the Pension Board. The committee also noted a report on the fund's risk register, a report on liquidity and cashflow monitoring and a report on scheme engagement and communications.

Shortlisting for the Post of Director of Housing Property and Asset Management, Appointments Sub Committee - Wednesday, 5th March, 2025 5.00 p.m.

The Appointments Sub Committee met to select a shortlist of candidates for the role of Director of Housing Property and Asset Management. The shortlist, as recommended by the recruitment consultants Penna, was agreed, and those candidates will be invited for final interviews.

The Appointments Sub Committee met to consider which candidates to shortlist for interview for the vacant post of Director of Public Realm. The committee agreed to shortlist a number of candidates for interview.

Budget Meeting, Council - Wednesday, 26th February, 2025 7.00 p.m.

The Council agreed to approve the 2025/26 budget report and the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) 2025-28. It was also agreed to adopt the Treasury Management Strategy Statement, Investment Strategy Report and Capital Strategy Report for 2025-26. The Member Allowance Scheme for 2025/26 was also approved.
