Area Planning Committee (Central and East) - Tuesday 8 April 2025 9.30 am

At the Area Planning Committee (Central and East) meeting, councillors approved plans for 33 affordable homes in Seaham, 64 dwellings in Wheatley Hill, and a retrospective application for a parking area in Durham, while a proposal for a dormer bungalow in Sherburn Hill was refused. Councillors also approved a variation to a planning application in High Shincliffe, and two change of use applications to Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) in Gilesgate. Finally, the committee approved a full planning application for an extension to the Durham Community Fire Station.

Chief Officer Appointments Committee - Tuesday 8 April 2025 8.30 am

The Chief Officer Appointments Committee of County Durham Council met on 8 April 2025 to discuss the minutes of the previous meeting and to conduct formal interviews for the post of Corporate Director of Regeneration, Economy and Growth. The meeting was held at Seat Unique, Riverside, in Chester le Street.

County Planning Committee - Wednesday 2 April 2025 10.00 am

The County Planning Committee met to discuss and decide on two planning applications: an eastward extension to Hulands Quarry and agricultural land improvements at Spring Garden, Lanchester. The committee approved the Hulands Quarry extension but rejected the Spring Garden application.
