The commission was also scheduled to discuss questions raised by Dr Nizamuddin Patel regarding Ofsted's report on children's services. The meeting also included an introduction to the CYPE Scrutiny Commission.

The Leicester City Health and Wellbeing Board met on 5 June 2025, to discuss several key issues impacting the health and wellbeing of the city's residents. The board approved the Better Care Plan 2025-26 and the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for consultation, and members heard presentations on health inequalities and nursing care standards. A key focus was placed on addressing gambling harms, with a presentation from Annie Ashton, who shared her personal experience of losing her husband to gambling-related suicide.

The Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission met to consider a call-in of an executive decision regarding post-16 special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) transport policies. The commission was scheduled to review the decision and determine whether to endorse, comment on, or withdraw the call-in. The original executive decision, made by Councillor Elaine Pantling ( Assistant City Mayor - Children and Young People), aimed to approve new policies for providing transport assistance to children and young people in education or training, with significant changes proposed for those aged 16 to 25 with SEND.
