The Cornwall Council cabinet met to discuss several key issues, including endorsing high-level priorities to shape a detailed council plan for 2026-2030, approving tenders for care and extra care homes, and supporting a development strategy for Newquay Airport. The Sustainable Growth and Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the council farms strategy, approve the committee's work programme for the coming year, and hear updates from cabinet members. The committee approved recommendations for a workshop on the council farms strategy, the work programme, and actions for the Cabinet Member for Transport. Councillor Luke Rogers was elected Chairman, Councillor Martyn Alvey was elected Vice-Chairman, and the board recommended the re-appointment of Captain Charles Gurd as an independent voting member.
