Tower Hamlets Health and Wellbeing Board - Tuesday, 10th December, 2024 5.00 p.m.

The meeting received annual reports from the Safeguarding Adults Board and the Safeguarding Children Partnership, as well as a progress report on the use of the recently insourced leisure services for clinical pathways, and began a discussion of a strategic vision for Tower Hamlets in 2035. The Board agreed to defer discussion of aligning the Health & Well-Being Board with the Tower Hamlets Together Board.

Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 5th December, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee held a meeting on Thursday 05 December 2024 where they discussed the provision of school places in the borough, the corporate parenting strategy, and mental health provision for children and young people. No decisions were made at this meeting.

Interviews for the post of Director of Adult Social Care, Appointments Sub Committee - Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024 2.00 p.m.

The Appointments Sub Committee met to consider the appointment of a Director of Adult Social Care.

Cabinet - Wednesday, 27th November, 2024 5.30 p.m.

The Cabinet of Tower Hamlets Council made a number of decisions at its meeting, including approving the continuation of business rates pooling arrangements with seven other London Boroughs, the adoption of a new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, and a new Substance Misuse Strategy. The Cabinet also approved plans to create a new nursery at Stepney Greencoat CE Primary School[^2] and to make a £1.5 million investment in leisure facilities across the borough. The Cabinet agreed to defer a decision on an application from The Roman Road Neighbourhood Forum to formally designate the area as a neighbourhood planning area.

Council - Wednesday, 20th November, 2024 7.00 p.m.

At this meeting, the council debated three petitions from members of the public and two motions proposed by the political groups. The council unanimously voted to reject or significantly reduce a proposed Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for dogs and unanimously voted to adopt the Migrant Care Workers' Charter. The council also voted to adopt a motion asking for the reintroduction of Meals on Wheels. The council voted to change who chairs the council committees.
