Children’s & Education Select Committee - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 2.00 pm

The Buckinghamshire Council met to discuss several key issues, including the appointment of a returning officer, cabinet member reports, and motions related to local plans and funding. Councillors approved the appointment of Lisa Marie Williams as the returning officer and electoral registration officer, and also approved a motion to engage with water and sewage providers on capacity investment in the local plan. A motion regarding transparency of member fees was referred to the Standards and General Purpose Committee.

The Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee met to discuss the Integrated Care Board, the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Adult Social Care and Public Health, and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. Councillor Stuart Wilson, Chair of the Health and Adult Social Care Committee, welcomed the members and partners to the meeting. Councillor Shade Adoh was re-appointed as vice-chair of the committee.
Children’s & Education Select Committee - Thursday, 19th June, 2025 2.00 pm
The Buckinghamshire Council Children's & Education Select Committee met to discuss several key issues, including special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), the outcome of a recent Ofsted inspection, and national reforms to children's services. The committee agreed to review both the SEND improvement plan and the Ofsted improvement plan at their next meeting, and also agreed to schedule a separate meeting to discuss the work programme in more detail. Councillor Wendy Matthews was appointed as Vice-Chair for the council year.

Buckinghamshire Council convened for its first meeting since the local elections, during which Councillor Sarfaraz Khan Raja was elected as the new Chairman, and Councillor John Chilver was elected as Vice-Chairman. Councillor Steve Broadbent was elected as the Leader of the council, and he announced his cabinet appointments for the year. The council also approved the proposed structure for select committees and made appointments to various committees, partnerships, and outside bodies.
