Council - Tuesday, 9 July 2024 10.00 am
Surrey Council met to discuss, among other business, their relationship with the newly elected national government, the provision of special educational needs support, and performance issues with the Council’s highways contractor, Ringway Infrastructure Services. The Council voted, without dissent, to approve the content of the Cabinet meeting on 25 June 2024, the minutes of the meeting on 21 May 2024, and the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24. They also approved a plan to update the Member Development Strategy.
Farnham Board - Friday, 14 June 2024 10.00 am
The meeting received an update on the Farnham Infrastructure Programme. It was noted that construction on the Water Lane Roundabout scheme had been completed and that the Upper Hale Road 20 mph speed limit would likely be finished in July/August 2024. A report was presented to the Board that included a number of actions that will need to be undertaken in the coming months, ahead of the next meeting of the Board.
AGM, Council - Tuesday, 21 May 2024 10.00 am
The meeting saw Councillor Saj Hussain and Councillor Tim Hall re-elected unopposed as Chair and Vice-Chair of the council respectively. It also saw the adoption of the scheme of proportionality for the coming year, approval of the appointment of various committees, chairmen and vice-chairmen, as well as the appointment of Michael Coughlin as Interim Head of Paid Service from 3 June 2024 to 18 August 2024. Matthew Woods was also appointed as the independent member of the Audit and Governance Committee for a period of four years.
Joint Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee (Frimley Park Hospital) - Friday, 17 May 2024 2.30 pm
The Joint Health and Overview Scrutiny Committee (Frimley Park Hospital) of Surrey Council met to discuss the Frimley Park New Hospital Programme. The Committee agreed to the Terms of Reference for the project and received a presentation on the progress made so far.
Adults and Health Select Committee - Friday, 10 May 2024 10.00 am
The meeting considered two main topics: an update on the provision of services to children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs, such as Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and an update on the Council's performance in relation to safeguarding adults. The committee made several recommendations on how services should be improved and asked the relevant officers to report back with progress on these at a later date.
