Licensing Sub Committee - Thursday, 3rd April, 2025 6.30 p.m.
The Licensing Sub Committee met to discuss a new premises licence for Damir Shop, and an application for a new premises licence for Poplar Union, though the latter was resolved prior to the meeting and required no consideration. The committee heard from the applicant for Damir Shop, as well as a licensing officer, and considered written objections to the application before adjourning.
Council - Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025 7.00 p.m.
The Tower Hamlets Council meeting addressed petitions, a motion to support children with special educational needs, and a motion to address intimidation and harassment in politics. Councillors also approved the calendar of meetings for 2025/26 and designated a new monitoring officer.
Cabinet - Wednesday, 26th March, 2025 3.00 p.m.
The Tower Hamlets Cabinet, led by Mayor Lutfur Rahman, convened to discuss a range of strategic and financial matters, including budget monitoring, endorsement of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 2 report, and bringing estates parking enforcement services in-house. The cabinet approved the Annual Delivery Plan for 2025/26, strategic delivery and performance report, budget monitoring report, and several other key decisions.
Licensing Sub Committee - Tuesday, 4th March, 2025 2.00 p.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider two applications for new premises licences, for 9 Morgan Street and for Shoreditch & Soul at 110-116 Cheshire Street. The committee agreed to grant the application for 9 Morgan Street, with conditions, but did not make a decision on the application for Shoreditch & Soul. The application for Shoreditch & Soul is to be dealt with by officers under delegated powers.
Pension Board - Monday, 3rd March, 2025 10.00 a.m.
The Board agreed the Pensions Administration Report, the Scheme Engagement and Communications Report, and the Pension Fund Risk Register. They noted the Pension Fund Quarterly Liquidity and Cashflow report, and that they had not completed the required training. The board discussed the poor performance of the pensions administration team and the steps being taken to improve it, and the importance of encouraging people to join and remain in the Local Government Pension Scheme.
