Longlisting for Director of IT, Appointment Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 29th July, 2025 6.20 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Council Appointments Sub-Committee convened to discuss the longlisting of candidates for the Director of IT position. The meeting, held in the Chief Executive's Office at Tower Hamlets Town Hall, also included an election of a chair and a review of declarations of interest. The Overview & Scrutiny Committee in Tower Hamlets met to discuss the Strategic Delivery Performance Report for Quarter 4, the Budget Monitoring Report for 2024/25, and the Strategic Vision 2035 Development and Engagement plan. Councillors raised concerns about recycling rates, the council's overspend on homelessness services, and the timetable for the new strategic vision.

Council - Wednesday, 16th July, 2025 7.00 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Council meeting on 16 July 2025 addressed several key issues, including petitions related to community assets and funding, and the ongoing continuous improvement journey required by the government. While motions on housing and child poverty were submitted, they were not debated due to time constraints.

Transformation and Assurance Board - Monday, 14th July, 2025 3.00 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Transformation and Assurance Board (TAB) met on 14 July 2025 to discuss the progress of the council's Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP), the Empowering Services Review, and the future of the TAB meetings themselves. The board agreed the minutes of the previous meeting, and decided to consider a change to the frequency of their meetings, with a decision to be made outside of the meeting by Stephen Halsey, Chief Executive, and Kim Bromley-Derry, Lead Ministerial Envoy.

Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 11th June, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to discuss a report on hate crime reporting and the direct award of contracts for domiciliary care services. Councillor Abdi Mohamed presented a report on hate crime reporting, which was well-received by the committee, and the committee agreed to send it to the cabinet. The committee then moved into a closed session to discuss the Domiciliary Care Service Direct Award of Contract.
