Housing and Regeneration Policy and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 3rd July, 2025 6.30 pm

The Housing and Regeneration Policy and Scrutiny Committee are scheduled to meet to discuss the re-procurement of housing term partnership contracts, and to scrutinise the consultation of the Paddington Place Plan. The committee will also review and approve the committee work programme for forthcoming meetings. Councillor Hamza Taouzzale has been nominated to be elected as Chair of the Housing and Regeneration Policy and Scrutiny Committee.

At a meeting of Westminster Council, Councillor Nickie Aiken was made an Honorary Alderman, and councillors debated a range of issues including school mergers, service charge increases, adult social care funding, cycle route safety, and housing priorities. Councillors also approved constitutional changes and an amendment to member allowances for 2025-2026.

The Westminster City Council meeting included a tribute to former Councillor Nikki Aiken, presentations from the public, questions to the cabinet, and debates on housing and private renters. Councillors voted to approve constitutional changes and amend the members' allowance scheme.

Inner West London Mental Health Services Reconfiguration Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 22nd May, 2025 7.00 pm, NEW

The Inner West London Mental Health Services Reconfiguration Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the decision made by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) on 8 April regarding mental health services in West London and Kensington and Chelsea. The committee scrutinised the ICB's decision to endorse a plan that includes a reduction in inpatient mental health services, alongside the establishment of five step-up crisis beds and five step-down beds in the south of Westminster, jointly funded by Westminster City Council and the ICB. While committee members acknowledged the need for community mental health services, concerns were raised about the adequacy of the proposed model to meet the current demand and the impact on vulnerable residents.

Council - Wednesday 14th May, 2025 7.00 pm

At the annual meeting of the Westminster City Council, Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg was elected as the new Lord Mayor, succeeding Councillor Robert Rigby. The council also approved changes to the Procurement Code and confirmed the allocation of places on standing committees.
