Extraordinary Meeting - Local Government Reorganisation, County Council - Wednesday, 19 November 2025 10.30 am

The Hertfordshire County Council convened an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at County Hall in Hertford. The primary focus of the meeting was to consider the Local Government Reorganisation Business Case. The meeting also provided an opportunity for public questions and petitions related to the business at hand.

Health Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 10 November 2025 10.00 am

The Health Scrutiny Committee met to discuss mental health and learning disability services provided by Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT), and to agree the Committee's work programme for the coming year. The committee agreed to write a letter to the Secretary of State regarding funding for adult acute mental health beds, and requested a future update on child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).

Education, SEND & Inclusion Cabinet Panel - Thursday, 6 November 2025 10.00 am

The Education, SEND & Inclusion Cabinet Panel of Hertfordshire Council met on Thursday 6 November 2025, to discuss several key issues, including public petitions, school reorganisations, the SEND strategy, and the expansion of Southfield School. The panel addressed a petition to save Sandon JMI School, ultimately deciding to defer a decision on its potential closure for a year. They also voted to proceed with public consultations regarding the potential closures of St Nicholas Elstree Church of England Primary School and Albury Church of England VA Primary School. Finally, the panel approved a recommendation to cabinet to expand Southfield School and agreed to a public consultation on the draft SEND strategy.

County Council - Tuesday, 21 October 2025 10.00 am

The Hertfordshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the appointment of a chair to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, political proportionality on committees, and a petition regarding the Hertfordshire Local Government Pension Scheme. The council also discussed and approved a new corporate plan, and heard reports from various committees.

Education, SEND & Inclusion Cabinet Panel - Thursday, 11 September 2025 10.00 am

The Education, SEND and Inclusion Cabinet Panel met to discuss several key issues, including delays to the relocation of Breakspear School, SEND performance, school admission arrangements, and childcare programmes. A motion regarding the relocation of Breakspear School was defeated. The panel recommended that the cabinet undertake consultation on proposed reductions to the published admission number (PAN) at four primary schools.
