This meeting was about the Health and Wellbeing Board considering updates on various health and wellbeing programmes in the Borough, and preparations for upcoming inspections of services for children with special educational needs. The meeting also included an update on mental health provision, and consideration of the minutes of the previous meeting.

Tower Hamlets Health and Wellbeing Board - Monday, 23rd September, 2024 5.00 p.m.

The meeting covered a number of urgent public health issues and new plans and policies to be implemented in the borough. The Board approved the North East London Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy 2024-2029 and the associated action plans for the borough, as well as the new Violence Against Women and Girls and Women's Safety Strategy 2024-29. They discussed the findings of the Annual Public Health Report and its implications for Tower Hamlets and heard updates on the Better Care Fund review, Children’s Mental Health Services and provision for Children with Special Educational Needs, including an update on the SEND and Inclusion Strategy 2024-2029. The Board noted a report on Maternity and Neonatal Demand and Capacity and also a report on Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2023. Finally, they received an update on preparations for the forthcoming Care Quality Commission inspection of Adult Social Care services.

The Health and Wellbeing Board met on Tuesday 05 December 2023 to discuss the Better Care Fund spending, the Big Conversation on health and care priorities, and the Combating Drugs Partnership. The Board also reviewed the winter plan for 2023-2024 and received an update on the SEND and Inclusion Strategy.

The Health and Wellbeing Board met on Tuesday 19 September 2023 to discuss the formation of the London-Bangladesh Health Partnership, the inequalities in life expectancy and healthy life expectancy within the borough, and the upcoming autumn/winter vaccination programme. The Board also received an update on the Tower Hamlets Together initiative.
