Health and Wellbeing Board - Monday, 29th September, 2025 2.00 pm

The Worcestershire Health and Well-being Board met to discuss the Joint Local Health Well-being Board Strategy, the Health and Work Strategy, the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, the Health Protection Group, the Integrated Commissioning Executive Officers Group, and the Better Care Fund. The board noted the progress being made in delivering the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JLHWS) and supported the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Strategy (ICS) Health and Work Strategy. The board was asked to review the summary and recommendations of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), and delegate final approval for publication to the PNA working group.

Cabinet - Thursday, 25th September, 2025 10.00 am

Worcestershire County Council's cabinet met to discuss plans to get more people into work and the latest budget monitoring report. The cabinet approved the Get Worcestershire Working Plan, and also agreed to stop further work on the Redditch Railway Station project, recommending that the council remove it from the Capital Programme. Councillors also discussed the financial challenges facing the council, including overspends in adult and children's social care.

The Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss community engagement in health improvement, review the committee's work programme, and identify priorities for the future. Councillors heard about several initiatives aimed at empowering local communities to take an active role in improving their health and wellbeing, including the Priority Neighbourhood Development Programme, school grants, and the use of green spaces. The committee agreed to continue its focus on reviewing the 2022-2032 health and wellbeing strategy and empowering the new council formed after local government reorganisation to continue and build on current work.

Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet met to discuss secondary school place planning, options for County Hall, electric vehicle charge points, and the Treasury Management Annual Report. The Cabinet agreed to increase places at schools in Malvern to meet demand in 2026 and 2027, and authorised a feasibility study into using the County Hall site for education. They also delegated authority to award contracts for electric vehicle charge point infrastructure and supported submitting a business case to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). Finally, the Cabinet noted and agreed to refer the Treasury Management Annual Report to the full council.
