Assembly - Wednesday, 19 November 2025 7:00 pm
At a meeting of the Barking and Dagenham Assembly, councillors noted the Local Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report 2024/25, approved the Annual Youth Justice Plan 2025/26, and agreed to submit the East London Joint Waste Plan Regulation 19 Submission Plan for government approval. The Assembly also noted the Treasury Management Strategy Statement 2025/26 Mid-Year Review, and approved the appointment of Councillor Julia Williams to the Pensions Committee.
Licensing and Regulatory Committee - Tuesday, 18 November 2025 7:00 pm
The Licensing and Regulatory Committee met to discuss proposed changes to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) Sex Establishment Licensing Policy. The committee agreed to the suggested changes to the policy, directing officers to incorporate the discussed amendments before submitting the updated policy to the cabinet for final approval. The updated policy aims to ensure the council can continue to enforce the policy's provisions, aligning with the council's priorities of protecting vulnerable residents and promoting inclusive growth and regeneration.
Pensions Committee - Tuesday, 30 September 2025 7:00 pm
The Barking and Dagenham Pensions Committee met to discuss the draft pension fund accounts for 2024/25, receive an update from Grant Thornton, review the quarterly monitoring report, and consider a responsible investment policy. The committee approved the Responsible Investment Policy and deferred a decision on which London CIV Infrastructure fund to invest in, pending the outcome of the Strategic Asset Review expected in January 2026, and agreed to delegate to the Strategic Director Resources in consultation with the Chair and Deputy Chair the London CIV preferred way forward on replacing Newton and Pyrford Diversified Growth Funds, and agreed the adoption of Investment Management Agreements between the LCIV and the investment manager for the mandates the Fund currently has with Kempen, UBS, Blackrock, Hermes and Patria.
Assembly - Wednesday, 24 September 2025 7:00 pm
The Barking and Dagenham Assembly met on 24 September 2025, and addressed the formation of a new Green Party group on the council, approved a new health implementation programme, and agreed to a memorandum of understanding with Queen Mary University London (QMUL). Councillor Mohib Chowdhury was appointed as the new Chair of the Standards Committee, replacing the previous chair.
Extraordinary Meeting, Ceremonial Council - Wednesday, 24 September 2025 8:00 pm
The Ceremonial Council of Barking and Dagenham convened to bestow honours upon two significant entities. The council voted to award the Honorary Freedom of the Borough to the Dagenham Girl Pipers, and to name Jean Alexander as an Honorary Alderwoman of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
