The Weaver Network Board approved changes to the Mayor's Fares Scheme from 1 January 2027. The Board approved the removal of local subsidy support for adult single bus fares and the continuation of subsidy support for MCard DaySaver and prepaid multi-operator MCard tickets until 31 March 2027. The Commercial Manager (Transport Services) will finalise scheme documentation, and a paper will be presented to the Combined Authority Board in December 2026 seeking approval for a new fares, ticketing, and retail strategy.

The Weaver Network Board approved the minutes of their meeting held on 17 September 2026. The Board also noted an update on bus franchising progress.

They approved the approach to build a minimum viable product for the customer workstream to ensure customer service standards are maintained during bus franchising. This includes enhancements to the contact centre platform, development of feedback management, procurement of new workforce planning and lost property systems.
