Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee - Wednesday 2nd October 2024 10.00 a.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee suspended the licence of Kay Viva, a restaurant in Stratford, for two weeks so that the licence holder and Designated Premises Supervisor, Vivian Ezeagu, can receive further training in the licensing regime by a reputable training provider. The licence was suspended following complaints about noise and anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of the premises and a compliance visit that found a number of licensing breaches. Further conditions will be imposed on the licence, which will be detailed in a decision notice to be sent to all parties within five working days of the meeting.
Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee - Wednesday 18th September 2024 10.00 a.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee has decided to grant the Chandos Community Association a new premises licence for the Chandos Community Association in Colegrave Road. However, licensable activities must end by 22:00 Sunday to Thursday and 23:00 on Friday and Saturday. The committee also imposed more than 30 conditions to address the concerns raised by residents and the police and environmental health.
Council - Monday 16th September 2024 7.00 p.m.
The Council approved motions on the provision of public toilets in the borough, the transfer of planning powers from the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) to the Council, and a motion cracking down on knife crime. The Council also approved the allocation of seats on council committees, and the adoption of a revised complaints procedure. A Green motion on child poverty and a Green amendment to the London City Airport motion were both defeated.
Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee - Tuesday 10th September 2024 10.00 a.m.
The Licensing Subcommittee decided to amend the existing conditions on the premises licence for Woodgrange Supermarket at 5 Woodgrange Road. One of the new conditions that was added related to the strength of the beers, lagers and ciders that could be sold, which will be 6.5% ABV, and another required that the licence holder keep invoices for alcohol purchases for three months and make them available to council officers on request.
