The Executive has
seven Members and is the Council’s main decision-making
body. It is chaired by the Leader of
the Council. It either makes decisions
itself or the Portfolio Holders make
decisions on matters relating to their specialist areas. The
Portfolios cover:
·
Adult Care & Health
·
Children, Education and Families
·
Renewal, Recreation and Housing
·
Public Protection and Enforcement
·
Environment
·
Transport, Highways and Road Safety
By law, the
Executive cannot take all Council decisions - some matters
have to be decided elsewhere,
principally by the Development Control Committee and the General
Purposes and Licensing Committee and their
Sub-Committees.
Members of the public are
permitted to ask one question of up to 50 words at each meeting of
the Executive. Please let us know whether you will attend the
meeting to put your question in person, or whether you require a
written reply. All questions and replies are published in the
minutes of the meeting.
