The Enfield Planning Committee is responsible for deciding on all applications for development and land use under the Town and Country Planning Act, including listed building and conservation area consents. It also authorises enforcement action for breaches of planning control.
The committee can refer matters to the full Council for decision and make recommendations. It has the authority to convene planning panels and member site visits, and considers written representations from involved parties
with a direct planning interest. Deputations from the public are permitted under specific procedures, limited to five minutes and focusing on planning issues.
