The Communities and Place OSC oversees agreements with Active Northumberland, Woodhorn Museum Charitable Trust, and Northumberland Tourism. It monitors, reviews, and makes recommendations on a wide range of local services and environmental matters. This includes development and neighbourhood planning, housing, climate change, waste management, transport, highway maintenance, and local services. The committee also reviews crime, community safety, antisocial behaviour, domestic violence, fire and rescue, and emergency planning. Additionally, it considers customer services and the provision of cultural and leisure facilities to improve quality of life and support economic growth in these sectors.
