The Camden Council Planning Committee met on Thursday 17 September 2026 to discuss several planning applications. The meeting's agenda focused primarily on proposals for new residential developments and extensions to existing buildings across various wards in the borough.
Planning Applications
The committee was scheduled to consider six planning applications:
Holy Trinity Church, Finchley Road, London NW3 5HT
This application proposed an extension and refurbishment of the existing church building, including an ancillary cafe and new level access from Finchley Road. The recommendation was to grant conditional planning permission, subject to a Section 106 Legal Agreement.
14 Blackburn Road, London NW6 1RZ
This proposal involved the demolition of existing buildings and redevelopment for a mixed-use scheme. The plans included purpose-built student accommodation (Sui Generis), affordable housing (Use Class C3), flexible commercial/business space (Use Class E), and a café. The recommendation was to grant conditional planning permission, following referral to the Mayor of London, finalisation of conditions, and completion of a Section 106 Agreement.
Land at Hadley Street, Castle Road Estate, London NW1 8TE
This application concerned the erection of two buildings to provide residential units (Class C3). Associated works included alterations to access, provision of landscaping, amenity/play space, cycle and accessible car parking, refuse storage, and roof level plant. The recommendation was to grant conditional planning permission subject to a Shadow Section 106 Legal Agreement.
Hylda Court, 3 - 5 St Alban's Road, London NW5 1RE
This item covered two related applications:
- The demolition of a garage block and caretaker's flat, and the erection of three dwellings.
- The erection of a roof extension to provide three dwellings with terraces, green roofs, and plant enclosure. The recommendation was to grant conditional planning permission subject to a Section 106 Legal Agreement, and to grant conditional Listed Building Consent for partial demolition and alterations to a boundary wall.
