The Royal Borough of Greenwich Planning Board met to discuss several planning applications, including proposals for new sporting facilities, residential developments, and changes to existing buildings. Playing Fields at Footscray Road
The Planning Board was to consider a request to grant full planning permission for new community sporting facilities at 177 Footscray Road, SE9 2SZ, Eltham. The proposal includes:
- Two floodlit 3G pitches1
- Five grass football pitches
- A clubhouse/pavilion with changing and football academy facilities
- Padel tennis courts

This development is planned for the former Co-op sports ground.
Land bound by Beresford Street and Macbean Street
The Planning Board was to consider a request to grant full planning permission for a mixed-use development on land bound by Beresford Street and Macbean Street SE18 6LW in Woolwich. The plans involve demolishing existing structures, partially demolishing, refurbishing, and extending the Electric Works building. The development would include:
- Residential accommodation (Class C32)
- Shared living accommodation (Sui Generis3)
- Student accommodation (Sui Generis)
- Commercial space (Class E4)
- Community space (Class F5)
- A replacement Market Pound (Sui Generis)
- Associated public realm, blue-badge and cycle parking, open space, hard and soft landscaping, and other related works.
Land bounded by Pettman Crescent, Nathan Way and Hadden Road
The Planning Board was to consider a request to grant planning permission for an application submitted under Section 73 of the Town and Country Planning Act 19906 for a minor material amendment in connection with planning permission ref. 22/3782/MA, dated 17 March 2023. The application seeks to vary several conditions to allow for:
- Amendment to unit numbers to increase the number of homes provided in Plot 1
- Amendments to housing mix
- Amendments to design codes and to the approved ground floor and proposed vertical limits of deviation from AOD parameter plans7
- Amendments to play provision
The land is bounded by Pettman Crescent, Nathan Way and Hadden Road, SE28 in West Thamesmead.
48 - 50 Artillery Place, Woolwich
The Planning Board was to consider a request to grant full planning permission for the change of use of 48 - 50 Artillery Place, Woolwich, SE18 4AB from commercial (Use Class E) to residential units (Use Class C3). The application also includes external alterations, extensions, and associated works.
Land at Penmon Road
The Planning Board was to consider a request to grant full planning permission for the construction of a 5-storey building at Penmon Road SE2 9PH in Abbey Wood. The building would comprise residential units (Use Class C3) with access and parking, landscaping, and other associated works.
