Council - Thursday, 19th September, 2024 7.15 pm
The meeting included announcements from the Mayor and the Leader of the Council. It then moved on to consider a petition calling for the Council to divest funds from institutions engaged in illegal occupations and crimes against humanity. The Council then approved seven motions that had been submitted by Councillors. It also approved a number of reports, including a report on the Council’s budget, and made a number of appointments.
Licensing Sub Committee C - Tuesday, 17th September, 2024 6.30 pm
The Licensing Sub Committee C met to discuss an application for a new premises licence at 11 Hercules Street [^1]. Councillors granted the application with conditions, after hearing that the applicant had addressed concerns from the Metropolitan Police and the Council's Noise Service.
Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 12th September, 2024 7.30 pm
The committee heard an update on the council's Progressive Procurement Strategy and the implications of the new Procurement Act 2023. The committee also reviewed the first quarter budget monitoring report, noting a projected overspend of £648,000 and heard an update on the council's Medium Term Financial Strategy. There was discussion about scrutinising Thames Water in a future joint meeting with the Environment, Climate Emergency and Transport Scrutiny Committee.

This meeting saw the adoption of a new Scrutiny Initiation Document (SID), a presentation from officers on the Islington Climate Panel, and a deputation from the Motorcycle Action Group.
Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 30th July, 2024 7.30 pm
This meeting included a presentation from the Executive Member for Inclusive Economy, Culture and Jobs, a report on the council's budget outturn for 2023/24, and an update on the council's corporate performance in the final quarter of 2023/24. It also included a proposal for a new scrutiny review on the topic of progressive procurement and discussion of the draft council Forward Plan.
